As we move into autumn, Kerikeri settles into one of its nicest times of year. The pace shifts slightly after the busy summer season, but the township remains active with markets, community events and visitors still enjoying the Bay of Islands in the milder weather.
The Old Packhouse Market continues to be a real focal point on weekends, bringing together local growers, food producers and artisans. It remains one of the places where locals and visitors naturally connect — and it’s encouraging to see the ongoing community interest in supporting its future as a shared local asset.
Live music sessions are continuing through April at the Plough & Feather, making the Basin a great spot for a relaxed afternoon or evening with friends. It’s always good to see these venues helping keep the town centre lively outside the peak holiday period. Autumn conditions are often ideal for exploring local walking tracks, beaches and historic sites around Kerikeri and the wider district.
Later in the month, the community will also gather at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Kerikeri Domain, an important opportunity to reflect and come together in remembrance.
Alongside these events, the regular Sunday Farmers’ Market continues to be a weekly favourite and a reminder of the strength of our local food producers and community spirit.
Autumn in Kerikeri is always a great time to reconnect locally — whether that’s catching up with neighbours at the markets, enjoying live music by the Basin, or making the most of the outdoors before winter arrives.
